Bettering the breed

We started our breeding program in 2020 after purchasing two beautiful Bernedoodle puppies. Libby and Mico are brother and sister and have been best pals since they were born. Mary was a small breeder about 20 years ago so not new to the breeding business but new to the doodle/poodle breed of dog. Talk about love!  We fell in love with Mico and Libby because of their wonderful temperaments and decided to delve back into the breeding world and embark on breeding Bernedoodles. Our goal is to breed healthy puppies for our community and to continue to better the breed through thoughtful pairings. The puppies are raised right here in our living room so we can interact with them throughout the day.  They hear all the sounds and sights being in the middle of a busy household.  Having this daily interaction helps build confident, well balanced, happy puppies.

Health

Our females have been extensively tested - OFA/Pennhip which includes hips/elbows/eyes cardiac and thyroid.  We run Canine Healthcheck on all of our adults as well as puppies to ensure we understand their genetics.  We offer a 2 year health guarantee for genetic diseases that we test for (currently over 250 via Canine Healthcheck).

Investment

$2800 for pet puppies.

People wonder why puppies and dogs have become a lot more expensive.  Ethical breeders buy the highest quality puppies possible for their programs.  These dogs have extensive testing - which can be quite expensive - in order to ensure the health of the puppies produced.  After the testing is complete, they may or may not pass all tests.  If they don't pass one of the tests, they are washed from our program.  This is how we ensure we are producing the highest quality puppies we can.

Important considerations:

Bernedoodles, depending on coat curl and length, need regular grooming to keep their coats from becoming matted. You should/comb or brush them out on a regular basis.  It's a great time to bond with your new addition!
